Our SchoolHouse provides children with learning opportunities that foster competence within a safe, clean, and caring environment.  The children spend their day in a happy and busy atmosphere.  There are small group sizes that allow us to provide individualized attention and quiet activities, as well as laps and cozy places for comfort and relaxation.  Whether your child is with us every day, or just a few hours a week, we are committed to be your partners in helping your child reach his or her potential.

Ways we learn about letters and numbers in Pre-K:

  • Recognition of numbers and letters on the calendar during morning meeting
  • Matching letters and numbers with flashcards
  • Writing our names on accomplished work
  • Reviewing or reading books
  • Counting materials in the inside and outside classroom environment
  • Searching for items that start with specific letters
  • One on one time writing and recognition time with educators
  • Writing letters and numbers in sand and other sensory materials
  • Tracing numbers and letters
  • Building letters and numbers with blocks and cubes
  • Reading and Identifying signs we see inside and outside
  • Visiting the library for story hour
  • Writing letters and numbers in journals
  • Name recognition on personal space (cubbies), rest time space, journal covers
  • Writing notes and cards to friends and family
  • Matching numbers with dominoes and games
  • Counting during attendance
  • Creating signs for dramatic play and block area explorations

Our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is built upon children’s’ interests and needs as well as the Massachusetts Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks.
